: A good resume indicates how you might perform in that desired future job position. The content of your resume is not just about you and about your past jobs and how you performed. It is advisable to emphasis more on your accomplishments gained in your past jobs that are most relevant to the job you are applying for. The best way is to remove responsibilities included and replace it with job accomplishments. Steps To Write A Good Resume The first step is to include the job objective. If you fail to show your sense of direction, the employer won’t be interested in you. But having a well stated and good objective doesn’t confine that you’re the best, this is only the first step. The second step is to clearly identify the type of job position and skill sets expected by the employer and make your own assessments, like how you fit best the role and how your accomplishments satisfy the expectations of the employer of that particular position. And modify your resume according to that particular job position that you are applying for. Applying with the same resume for all job positions makes will hinder your chances of success. The third step is to decide whether your resume format will be in a chronological or functional format. Opt for a chronological format when you are in the same field with clear cut qualifications and go for a functional one when you are changing fields.
The fourth step is to fill your resume with problem-action-results that occurred in your work place and how you handled them. The fifth and final step is to present your resume in a clearly visible, organized and readable format with no grammatical and spelling mistakes.

Online degree program scores with video game enthusiasts
When high school students spend hours playing video games, parents often say it's a waste of time. However, these video game players, or "gamers," can now find professional opportunities to complement their interest. The relatively young academic specialty of computer game technologies has grown in response to the popularity of the skyrocketing video game industry. According to the NPD Group, Inc., a global leader in sales and marketing information, video game sales have grown from $6.6 billion in 2000 to $9.4 billion in 2004. Building on the success of the game and simulation programming (GSP) bachelor's degree program offered at 11 of its campuses nationwide, DeVry University announced it will offer the degree program online beginning in spring 2006. "Game development technologies will play an important role in shaping many aspects of the entertainment and defense industries for years to come," said Steven Riehs, vice president and general manager of DeVry University Online. The campus-based GSP degree program was met with enthusiasm by students, faculty and employers and it's expected that the online GSP program will allow even more students to pursue degrees in this growing industry. According to Jesse Schell, former chairman of the International Game Development Association, the number of individuals looking to enter the gaming industry has grown tremendously in the last 10 years. He stresses that the gaming industry is not about theory, but the application of real technology and notes that individuals with hands-on experience developing games are most likely to succeed in these careers. The university's game and simulation programming degree program features course work in the math and physics of games, programming fundamentals, game design, modifications (MOD), massively multi-player online game programming (MMOG), two - and three-dimensional graphics programming, simulation and game engine design. Graduates will be qualified for positions as programmers, software engineers and project coordinators in the computer game technology industry, as well as similar positions in simulation design and programming. Examples include tactical and strategic military simulations and training, automotive design and testing, training for health care workers, crime scene reconstruction and flight simulation. According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, entry-level gaming programmers/engineers with three years' experience can expect to earn an average annual salary of $54,300.

Career track becoming an engineer
The U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics defines engineers as those who “apply the theories and principles of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems.” In other words, engineers are the ones who solve complex problems for the rest of us. There are approximately 1.5 million engineers in the U. S. today. Engineering is a challenging job with decent pay (an engineer’s pay is higher than most with just a bachelor’s degree). In fact, the average salary for an engineer was reported at just slightly over $65,000 in 2002. The top 10% of all engineers earned more than $90,000. Of course, an engineer’s salary ultimately depends on their location and specialty. Engineers find employment virtually anywhere innovation takes place. Engineers design and manufacture machines, processes, systems and even economical structures. They commonly work in the government, research, industry, military, teaching, management or consulting sectors. There are more than 25 recognized career tracks for the engineer. And you can rest assured that as technology advances, engineering specialties will only grow in number. A few of the major engineering specialties include; aerospace, chemical, civil, electrical industrial, materials, mechanical, and software engineering. You will at least need a bachelor’s degree from a university engineering program to qualify for an engineering position. The degree must be from a college or university accredited by the ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology). To get into most college engineering programs, a student is expected to have completed two years of high school algebra and one year of trigonometry. They should have also completed one year of both chemistry and physics. As you’ve probably heard, engineers are typically very good at math and science. So if the thought of algebra makes you squirm, this career may not be the right one for you. The best engineers enjoy complex problem solving, and are true inventors at heart. If you choose engineering as a career, you can expect to be right on the cutting edge of technology. You will turn ideas into reality and solve problems that better society.

Ladies and gentlemen start your careers automotive technicians wanted
It can be a challenge to land a prime spot on a race car pit crew. Yet vehicle dealerships across the country are scrambling to find qualified automotive technicians for their own "pit crews"-even with salaries of $30,000 to $70,000 or more, depending on the market and the technician's level of training. The U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that the auto industry will need 35,000 new technicians every year through 2010. Lucrative But Overlooked Careers With that in mind, an unusual contest is getting into gear with the purpose of increasing awareness about this lucrative and rewarding yet often-overlooked career, and support training opportunities for future technicians. It's called the No. 29 Goodwrench Expertise Challenge. And it is a challenge. "Historically, being an automotive technician has been depicted as a dirty, dead-end kind of job," said Peter Lord, executive director, GM Service Operations. "That old stereotype could not be further from the truth. Today's cars and trucks are very sophisticated-the computer technology in them alone, for example, is nearly 1,000 times more powerful than what took the Apollo mission to the moon." "Dealerships need trained, qualified technicians because they know that satisfaction with vehicle service and repair work is closely tied to how customers view their vehicles and the dealership." The Challenge benefits automotive technician training like this: If driver Kevin Harvick's No. 29 car wins two out of 12 selected NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series races beginning May 28 with the Coca-Cola 600, GM Goodwrench will set up a $200,000 scholarship fund to encourage Automotive Youth Educational Systems (AYES) high school students to continue their automotive technical education by attending GM Automotive Service Educational Program (ASEP) colleges. AYES is a nonprofit business and education partnership that creates automotive technology career opportunities for promising young men and women at automotive dealerships. It was founded in 1995 by former GM Chairman Jack Smith as a way to address the growing need for technicians. Spreading The Word "There are thousands of NASCAR fans-and others-who are ideal candidates for a career as an automotive technician," said Larry Cummings, CEO of AYES. "The Expertise Challenge is a fun and engaging way to help spread the word about these great career opportunities." Students enrolled in GM ASEP two-year programs earn while they learn, rotating their time between classes and interning at GM dealerships and other GM service centers. There are 66 GM ASEP participating schools in 38 U. S. states, 15 in Canada and one in the People's Republic of China. Successful students graduate with an associate's degree, and either are ready for or have passed their National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification test. More than 2,000 students are currently enrolled in the program, and there are more than 14,000 graduates. If Harvick and the team meet the Expertise Challenge by winning two of the 12 select races, GM Goodwrench will award 29 Grand Prizes, which consist of an all-new 2007 Chevy Avalanche, a $1,000 GM vehicle maintenance certificate and a trunk full of Reese's products. Program Rules Available If only one race is won during the promotion, two lucky winners will be awarded an all-new 2007 Chevy Avalanche, a $1,000 GM vehicle maintenance certificate, and a trunk full of Reese's products. They will also donate $25,000 to the GM Goodwrench Scholarship Fund. If no races are won during the promotion, the promotion will still give away an all-new 2007 Chevy Avalanche, a $1,000 GM vehicle maintenance certificate, and a trunk full of Reese's products to one lucky winner, and provide a $25,000 donation to the GM Goodwrench Scholarship fund.

It s a good time for registered nurses
: The healthcare industry is experiencing a great amount of job growth. There is a nationwide shortage of nurses, and this shortage is predicted to get worse. Jobs in the field of nursing are abundant worldwide. Unfortunately, not only are there not enough nurses, there are not enough nursing educators. This causes a high degree of competition for those wanting to get in to a nursing program. Potential nursing students are finding it difficult to find programs, and when they do, there are often wait lists. The wait is worth it, however. Since qualified nurses are in high demand - and will continue to be, the wages too, will continue to rise. Registered nurses constitute one of the largest healthcare occupations, with 2.3 million jobs. Even more new jobs are expected to be created for registered nurses than for any other occupation. These job opportunities are expected to be very good. Registered nurses known as RN's work to sustain health, prevent disease, and support patients who are dealing with illness. They are advocates and health educators for the community, their patients and the patients families. Registered nurses deal with direct patient care. It is their job to observe patients, record symptoms and track patient progress. The also help to assist doctors during surgery, treatment, and examinations. They are also required to administer medications, and help in convalescence and therapy. The setting a registered nurse works in somewhat determines their regular duties. Hospital nurses form the largest group of nurses. Hospital nurses provide bedside nursing care and carry out medical regimens. They also may supervise licensed practical nurses and nursing aides. Hospital nurses usually are assigned to one department, such as surgery, maternity, pediatrics, the emergency room, intensive care, or the treatment of cancer patients. There are three different nursing degrees that lead to an RN. To become an RN, nurses need to graduate from a 4-year Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing, an Associates of Nursing, or a Nursing Diploma program offered by hospitals. They also need to pass a national licensing examination. A registered nursing degree has a national licensing section that makes it easier to get licensed in multiple states. This is helpful if a nurse gets recruited elsewhere. According to the Department of Labor Statistics, registered nurses will be in great demand for the foreseeable future. More new nursing jobs will be open than jobs in any other field. At this time, there is a shortage of qualified nurses to even come close to filling the projected demand. The average salary for a nurse is approximately $48,000 with the higher 10% making upwards of $69,000 annually. Melissa Steele, College Degrees @ EducationGuys Writer.

Career strategies with hypnosis how hypnosis can boost your confidence and improve your career
Copyright 2006 Steve G. Jones Competition in any given field of work can be fierce, but some people are finding a competitive edge down a much less traditional road. They are using hypnosis and hypnotherapy to give them more ambition, motivation, and confidence to succeed at work. There are many different stages that one goes through during the course of their career. Sometimes people jump from one job to another in search of work that is satisfying and fulfills their personal goals. At other times, people may find themselves in an industry they love, but they just don’t have what it takes to progress. It is these same types of people that can benefit the most from hypnosis as a career strategy. Aside from having the right kind of training and skills, there are other obstacles --internal ones -- that keep many from doing what they love. These include shyness, lack of confidence, low ambition, fear of rejection, low energy, lack of concentration or focus, fear of public speaking and lack of sales skills. All of these “conditions” or phobias have to do with a feeling or impression. It is a mental image people have of themselves, that is often unfounded. Hypnosis is especially effective in changing these thought patterns that interfere with career advancement. For example, when someone has no ambition, it is often because he or she doesn’t understand or see the reward of going after something important that will benefit them. Hypnosis addresses negative feelings, fears and suppressed, preconceived ideas and replaces them with positive reinforcement. Past newsletter articles have talked about the hypnosis process that leads one through the steps to change. It all starts with a relaxation process called induction. Next the relaxed feeling is increased in the deepening stage. The script is now ready to be introduced. This is the heart of hypnosis and where the negative thoughts are replaced with positive thoughts that will lead to action. An amnesia stage is next and it allows the hypnotized person to forget on a conscious level what they were told so that the subconscious mind can embrace the message without analytical interference. Finally, the trance is terminated and the hypnosis session ends. Let’s look at the process using the fear of rejection scenario. Once the person has gone through the induction and deepening stages of hypnosis the script would then instruct them that they have a great deal to contribute to the workplace and the that the opportunities are there for them to seize. If they are passed by for the promotion or new job, it is okay. A better opportunity is waiting. If you do not try for the new job you will never know what might have been and may regret missing the opportunity. This kind of dialog gives encouragement about trying and the message that even if rejection happens, it is not the end of the world. The essential part is to try. Hypnotherapy or self-hypnosis are both effective in implementing new ideas about career advancement. The significant aspect is that these mental obstacles to success can be overcome through hypnosis.
